We all see the problems — the pain, the greed, the cruelty, the neglect, the climate degradation, the loneliness, the prejudice, the addiction, the fear. To change all this, our world needs nothing less than an inner revolution. We need to question everything: our personal assumptions, social and political institutions, ways of relating to one another and the earth, spiritual beliefs, healing modalities, the way we think and more. And we have to be willing to change it all. Once a social radical, Beth Green is now an inner revolutionary. And she says we can do it and we know how. Please check out this website, embrace the three commitments, the three habits and the support for the Inner Revolution that will help us all experience a new way of feeling, being and living. And please join Beth on her weekly radio show, Inner Revolutionary Radio on VoiceAmerica.com, Variety Channel. She would welcome your participation. Let’s have faith in our collective future, and let’s support one another in every way to change ourselves, so that, together, we can change our world.
The Roadmap to the Inner Revolution Starts Here!
The Inner Revolution is the process of changing ourselves and our world by embracing the Three Commitments: Oneness, accountability and mutual support. By embracing the Three Habits: courage, self-awareness and transformation. And by embracing Support.
TheInnerRevolution.org has over 30 years experience co-creating a community based on these commitments, habits and support, and they work! We are ordinary people who have become more loving, more conscious and more mutually supportive individuals. We would like to offer our experience and tools to you. Perhaps, together, we can co-create a world that is more sustainable, humane and mutually supportive.
The Three Commitments of an Inner Revolutionary
Oneness – We all realize that we are deeply feeling individuals, who experience pain and joy, frustration and fulfillment, fear and love. But what we tend to forget is that we are more than individuals. We are also part of a larger whole that is constantly evolving. This forgetting has caused us and one another deep suffering, as we exploit, abuse, negate, separate and often fear one another in a world where there is a seemingly endless struggle to dominate, manipulate and compete, even when we don’t realize it. And we do these things as individuals (you versus me) and as group (us versus them). To practice Oneness, we commit to recognizing that when we hurt one another, we hurt ourselves.
Accountability – Everything we do matters and impacts us and one another. When we commit to accountability, we commit to examining every thought, belief, feeling and action, so we can evaluate its impact on ourselves and each other. We also commit to changing everything and anything about ourselves and our world that causes needless pain and blocks us from our individual and collective potential.
Mutual Support – Although we can have moments of personal happiness, we can thrive only in a thriving world. When we commit to mutual support, we commit to include in our perspective the needs of the whole and to dedicate every decision to the highest good of all, including us. In this way, we actively co-create a more supportive world for us all.
If every individual, group, organization, race, religion, gender, species embraced these principles and practices in every arena of our lives, our world would change. But in order to practice these principles, we need to develop three habits.
The Three Habits of an Inner Revolutionary
Courage – The willingness to stand up to whatever is hurtful about ourselves or our world, even when others consider these behaviors “normal.” Let’s bolster this courage by continuously giving and reaching out for support from those around us, if they can give it. And if those around us are themselves too fearful to support us, let’s reach out to the furthest ends of the universe, including the divine realms, if that fits our belief system.
Self-Awareness – The willingness to look unflinchingly into ourselves and our world, continually revealing our feelings, motives and secret agendas and exploring the sources of our destructive patterns and behaviors. Let’s stop justifying our negative behaviors, let’s get ruthlessly honest with ourselves and others, and let’s get the support to do it.
Support for Transformation – The dedication to overcoming the negative patterns we notice in ourselves and our world. Let’s acknowledge that we are often driven by fears that we’ve developed through traumas and negative programming. And let’s get the support we need to clear these traumas and this negative programming, so that we may release them from our bodies, minds and spirits, so that we may become more relaxed and, therefore, more able to love and support ourselves and one another.
Support for the Inner Revolutionary
To be able to change on these deep levels, we need support and lots of it. And that’s the purpose of TheInnerRevolution.org. But before we describe our supports, let’s talk a little about what is inspiring us.
For many of us, the urge to change the world came at a young age. We saw suffering in our families, neighborhoods and world, and we wanted to do something about it. Perhaps we went toward protests and activism, but then got fed up with the anger and polarization we experienced in the movement. Perhaps we discovered that no matter what we tried to fix, there were infinitely more problems, and often the fixes weren’t realistic and didn’t work. And many of us noticed that WE had a lot of work to do on ourselves.
This caused generations of us to look within. We turned to therapy, the human potential movement, New Age/New Thought spirituality, 12-step programs, religion, meditation, yoga, even medication to change our own reactivity. But even that wasn’t enough, because, as many of us discovered, there is no personal salvation. We may quit drugs, but a cocaine addict can still hit us on the freeway; no matter how evolved we are, our daughter may be raped and permanently damaged; no matter how much we meditate, our weather is becoming more extreme, just like everyone else’s. And the suffering continues.
At TheInnerRevolution.Org, we believe that to alleviate suffering on this planet, we need to change ourselves AND our world, and our community has experience doing just that. For over 30 years, we have been developing programs and materials that help us transform as individuals and as a collective, and we want to offer them to you. We are not claiming or even suggesting that you cannot or should not get support of be active elsewhere. On the contrary, the Inner Revolution is already occurring and it is our intention to support it in any way we can.
At the same time, we have books, videos, a radio show, programs and trainings that specifically support us to live the Three Commitments and Three Habits of the Inner Revolution, which we can then take into any arena of our lives. And we are intentionally galvanizing support for the Inner Revolution, wherever it occurs. So please take a look at our offerings. They have worked for us. They may help you, no matter what else you are doing.
Supports for the Inner Revolutionary
1. Heal ourselves psychologically, so that we have the greatest level of wellbeing available to us, which in turn gives us the emotional foundation for becoming less fear-based and open to positive change. Our healing allows us to embrace Oneness, accountability, mutual support, courage, self-awareness and transformation. The more we heal, the more capable we are of growth and transformation. Check out Beth Green’s Huffington Post article, “Dare to Heal: Why Wellness Is Revolutionary.”
2. Embrace a liberating spirituality that gives us access to higher consciousness, while simultaneously ending shame and incorporating common sense. Read Beth Green’s article in the Huffington Post, “We Need an Inner Revolution and a Radical Spirituality.”
3. Throw out our own old ideas and ego-based approaches, fearlessly confronting stagnant traditional and often hierarchical approaches to everything from the spiritual, to the political; from the way we make decisions, to the way we treat the earth. Plus let’s intervene with our world in the same way, challenging “the way things are,” while simultaneously acknowledging our oneness and our own accountability. We have lots of videos, books, blogs and a radio show to help us shake up our thinking and liberate our souls. Check out our videos, books, radio show and blogs. And check out our ongoing support systems.
4. Train others, so that the ranks of inner revolutionaries can grow and grow. In this way, we co-create a world where there is healing and support for all. Check out our various Training Programs.
We are calling upon all people to support The Inner Revolution by bringing to every issue, discussion and relationship the practices of Oneness, Accountability and Mutual Support. To develop these practices, we need courage, self-awareness and healing. You can develop all these at TheInnerRevolution.org.

Somewhere inside us, we are still the children we were, children who suffered for the suffering of ourselves AND others. We may have become discouraged over the years, but let’s not stop there. We can all see signs of change, change from the inside out. To support and deepen that change, we need to galvanize this movement with the clarity of unified vision and the support of organization. Let’s do it together. If you feel as we do, TheInnerRevolution.org can be a home for you. Please join us in whatever way you can.
